Clinical social work

Social work supports the physical, emotional and social dimension of health.
Especially if the social component is a deciding factor in a patient’s recovery, the physicians at Medizin Mariahilf will refer the patient to the in-house social worker. This way, the necessary counselling and support is rapidly organized for our patients.

Counselling and support could tackle:

• Questions regarding the social sphere and social insurance (law)
• Information and referral to relevant social, nursing and medical services offered in Vienna
• Support in expanding one’s personal social competences and opportunities for action
• Help in (acute) crisis situations
